    … and a street light

Image taken while walking around the Johns Hopkins University Undergrad Campus. This shot was taken during that fateful trip to Chipotle that resulted in the most recent burst of posts on my xanga as well…

Thinking about Chipotle right now, though, is definitely the wrong move, as I did not have nearly enough time this morning to eat breakfast before heading in to lab. I am debating heating up some of my spaghetti (angel hair) and meatballs for an early brunch… I think I’m going to do that. People will look at me so weirdly if they see me eating lunch food at… 9 AM. Oh well.

EDIT: I chickened out. I didn’t have the guts to be eating my oh-so-tasty, but sadly also smelly, angel hair pasta. I just bought some oatmeal instead.

  • Erosion of the Past

Image taken in front of a now-closed coffee-shop / restaurant around the Johns Hopkins University campus.

I remember going to this place quite a few times during my JHU Undergraduate career. It was the backdrop for a lot of big events… and now it’s closed. This is reminiscent of how I felt when my high school, back in San Diego, was closed and incorporated with a different school across the county. I felt almost as if a piece of my past had been taken away from me. I will never be able to take my future wife and kids to visit and tour some areas that meant a lot to me.

The past, as Susan so eloquently put it, becomes just a row of pawns instantly cleared out like it never existed.

What parts of your past have been eroded?

  • Christmas in July…

OK. Not July… Actually more like late February, but it DID sound better saying that.

It must be a line from a movie, or something, no? I swear that I’ve heard that phrase before.

Anyway, I happened to spy these lights near the end of February. I thought they looked at least marginally cool / interesting.

PS. See my reflection a little bit?

  • Looking Up…

Isn’t it time that you started looking up in your life? You might find something you like… like interesting looking lights in a Chipotle fast food restaurant. (mmmmm. Chipotle. I could SURE go for one or two of those right now.) Just make sure you don’t stare too long, as I ran into a table shortly after taking this shot, haha.

What do you look up to or aspire to in your life?

  • Illumination From Below

Just a pretty interesting-looking street light that I saw while walking after a long day of studying… and I do mean LOOONG. Darn MCAT. I guess it’s a necessary evil, since I want to do decently, haha.

  • Looking Closer…

It’s pretty easy to miss what truly matters in life when looking at things in the distance…
Sometimes you just have to stop looking and be grateful for what is right in front of you.

Despite the struggles that consume my life at the moment (hardcore studying for MCATs in two months, worrying about the med school application, and other group project commitments that I have made), I should be very grateful that I have an amazing family and excellent friends.

What are you thankful for in your life?

  • Boulevard Supply Company

I wonder if they could supply me with what I need… But then again, what do I need? I certainly don’t need plumbing suplies… at least I hope not. That would suck.

This shot, like the previous post, were taken while playing with my 20D (thanks Jimmy) outside of the Hopkins medical campus… I should really stop doing that unless I want to get arrested… Haha. Wouldn’t that make for a funny headline?

  • Lead the way…

Don’t you just wish you had something to lead the way sometimes?

Shot taken at the JHU Medical Campus while I was walking around / freezing my butt off last friday. It was actually quite funny since I was harassed by a couple of campus police officers since you’re not allowed to take pictures of the medical school buildings … I did it anyway :-x

EDIT: Image changed to be bigger

PS. Sorry for the lack of weekend update guys… I had a hectic weekend. I’m back though!
