It’s Alive…
Here’s my little 2100 lbs race car…
Jackson Racing Supercharger + Jackson Racing ECU + Flyin’ Miata Stage 2 Race Suspension + Konig 11.3 lbs rims (with Rota caps, grr!) – Spare Tire and Trunk Carpeting = ULTIMATE FUN. Now all I need is a roll bar, race seats, and an exhaust.
Grace is now SUPER-Grace
PS. Huge thanks to Richard for substantially helping in the install…

I’m surprised you put that emblem on the side of your car. Take it off!!! Sleeper Will, Sleeper!!!
wow, great HDRs! I would’ve kept the emblems off as well, sleeper! But if I HAD to put it somewhere, I would’ve put them there also. Add 215s to your list of mods (maybe 225/50 )
SWEEEET.
Lovin the rims, too.
How much work did it take to install the supercharger?
Love it man!!
Makin’ me miss my old ’99 NB Miata
Had everything you want except the seats and blower, lol.
never know ure a racer as well as a photog,
dont drive too fast or else u might need a fire extinguisher lol
nice ride
btw what kind of lighting is that?
Hey! You and I have the same car! Well … we both have miata’s. Lol. I’ve got the 2002 special edition in yellow.
It’s pretty stock though with minor mods. I’ve still got warranty on it! I’ve been itching to turbo-charge it for a while now but that’s not even on my “priority” list right now. Oh well… maybe later.
@Vietprince1 - yeah take the badges off man! youre just asking to get jacked
@RedStarr5 – I am pretty jealous of your SE! About two weeks after I bought mine, I saw a titanium grey SE (mind you for a few thousand more than my car), and it was awe inspiring. I absolutely love the stock SE rims. They look like those BBS rims that are quite popular ( Click me! ), only better. As for F/I, I highly recommend a Supercharger rather than a turbo for our cars, unless you’re planning on drag racing and want the higher upper limit that turbos have. The supercharger actually smoothed out my torque curve, and it keeps the character of our “perfect English roadster” (according to Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear). I wouldn’t be a fan of turbo lag, but that’s just me. I prefer instant response, and the feel of a larger, naturally aspirated car to a laggy, but more powerful turbo.
@Brando_n – Actually the lighting behind my car is just an artifact of the time of the day that I took the pic (~4 am)… I’d never put underbody lighting, haha. I DEFINITELY don’t want to rice it out, not to mention the added weight that it would bring, when I took out a lot of my carpeting, spare tire, and other stuff to save weight, heh.
@Av8tqr – Very nice man. Which exhaust did you run? I’m thinking Enthuza Roadster Sport, which uses a Borla muffler. I need one at some point to get rid of the back pressure that I probably have flowing 350 cfm+ on a muffler meant for like 200.
@caihwei – Haha or at least putting my race tires back on…
@yello_lego – Thanks for the compliment on the rims, man. The install wasnt that bad. It was about a week of on-and-off work, totalling about 20-25 hours? Luckily Richard helped me SO much!
@Vietprince1 – I was really thinking about keeping it sleeper, but I really like how it looks, aesthetically. What I really wanna do is take off the Miata badge in the back and put on the European style / new Miata style “MX-5″ logo. I always hated the name Miata, even before I bought the car, but I just loved the car’s handling and essence so much that I got it anyway… I just have to get rid of the US name… I mean anywhere else in the world (or even in the 2006+ US models), they’re not called Miata lol.
@GERKshinobi – And you know I live in Baltimore… Doubles my chances of getting it stolen… Tough Call.
@DJ_Stunna - I actually built a custom one, header back. Used 3.5 and designed it to accept the wet 100hp shot of nitrous the car was running PLUS the eventual blower. Sounded GREAT
@Av8tqr – Oh wow. Custom built… I wish I could do something like that… I just have no access to any tools, nor do I have any know-how as to how to begin, haha. Oh, and, that’s sick about the 100 shot. So what made you get rid of her? (and sorry to hear she had to go!)
holy moly. i don’t see how there could possibly be 20-25 hours of work involved o_o seems time enough to disassemble the entire engine bay and put it back together 4-5 times over!
Awesome car Will, I dig it!
@yello_lego – Haha yeah… I mean it was “supposed” to take 8-10 hrs according to the jackson racing manual… It’s just hard when we had to find everything, and had a super hard time aligning the supercharger with the other pulleys… Im sure if we redid it, itd be quicker.
@NVPhotography – Thanks man
@DJ_Stunna - Hmm you do have a point there. I’ve own several turbo-charged cars in the past and it’s just been too long — you’ve just reminded me of the few-second turbo lag I hated. Lol. And yes, I gotcha on the supercharged. I’m so curious as to how yours drive though. I want to drive one! Lol. The bf’s got a supercharged tacoma and his truck’s got crazy torque. But you know… you can’t be comparing the two. Boooo. Ah and yeah, now that you point it out, I see the similarities between the BBS and the stock rims. I can’t believe I never noticed that since those BBS rims were stupid popular here in Hawaii some time ago.
BTW, I noticed you also named your car. I named mine JOOS (juice was already taken so I had to be “creative”). LOL. It’s just too cute with that name. Lol.
lol, was it really 20-25hrs?? I couldn’t keep track. I’m just surprised we managed to pull it off in your garage, with no workbench, and tools constantly scattered everywhere on the floor
@caihwei – Hah well, I figure we spent about 3 hours Thursday, 4 hours Friday, and 10ish hours on Saturday… and then about 3 more on Tuesday to finish everything up. So I guess more like 20. It would ahve been much quicker if Jackson Racing had competent installation guide writers and more pictures.
@RedStarr5 – Haha at the name JOOS. Now you know, because of her name, you gotta put in some kind of Juice, right? lol. I take it that is also your vanity plate? I sometimes wish I got something like that… It’s expensive though, right? There’s a pretty modded 350z around here with the vanity plate 2LOW4SNO, which I thought was hilarious
@DJ_Stunna - LOL I hear ya on putting in some “juice” in the car. HAHAHAHA. And yes, those are my vanity plates too. =X Here in Hawaii it’s an extra $25 for vanity plates. And it’s funny because people either can read what my lic plate says, or they’re totally confused. I’ve seen people taking pics of my plates in traffic. o_O How weird.
Oh and 2LOW4SNO is so innocent. I wish we have more “innocent” plates here in HI. All we get here are really irritating phrases. I saw a stock G35 last night with the plates “YNVNE1″ (why envy anyone) — we have a 6 letter max in HI. Then there’s this really funny one on a 2nd gen Eclipse that says “IH8MYX” (I hate my ex).. hahaha! Then we have the Euro guys running fake (well, what looks to be fake anyway) Euro plates on their VW’s that allow more letters. I’ve seen “BMWKILLER” and “4UFKNHTRS”. Yeah… we got “creative” people here in HI. =P
car talk! i know crap about them. hahha. nice pictures though!
FI. NICE.
beautiful
