Pink Below
Shot was taken while at the Self Realization Fellowship Meditation Gardens (or Zen Gardens as Uta likes to call it), while in San Diego over the Holidays with the lovely company of my parents.
Canon 350D: Canon EF 70-200L @ 200mm, F/4, 1/80 sec, ISO 400EDIT: I changed the picture to a slightly differently processed version. I also have included a larger version this time.

i like the black background
awwwwwwww like how the focus is so vividly clear… and the back ground hazy… as if giving way to the real star of the photo… lovely
Lovely flower! Very pink~!
.. that is quite possibly one of the worst names for a garden ever lol
great shot!
i can see that you have eyes that appreciate beauty of simple things.
i need to buy a new lens for better close up shooting.
keep up the good work.
i love flowers.
this is a small flower.

love it.. what is that, a desert lily?
Have you achieved self realization?
This is absolutely beautiful and I can see why it is in Zen Gardens.
Have a great mid week day.
ooh I love those kins of flowers, they’re so extremely vibrant!
RE: As you know, I love the grainy look…
And at ISO 6400, I can’t expect it to be grainless!
=Matt=
Depth of field…always & forever be my favorite.
Reflection too.
I like the radiant color of the flower. Well done. Impressive piece of work.
stunning picture! hehee!
Man, if you’re going to keep taking photos of flowers like this, you should get a macro lens. Even more bokeh and close-ups!
they need some zen gardens around here. east coast has nothing cool
beautiful!
thanks will! we should talk sometimes! hope all is well with uta
WOW…what a great picture!
does your 200m works well as the micro lens? i always wonder if u zoom in, it will have almost the same closeness as a micro.
flower rangers!!
i can almost smell it!
nice. a bit soft for my tastes in the center of the flower.
ryc: i also took a shot with the burger and fries in focus but it didn’t turn out as well as i wanted it to. it was too dark. so i just went with the focused bag instead. =P
Yeah. I was planning on waiting but my only problem is my budget. I’m budgeting 2K so I am trying to decide between a full frame digital (5D) or a Nikon F6. I’m thinking the 5D update will be upwards of 3K like the 5D when it was first released so that’s out of my range. What are you shooting with?
Yeah. I might do that. I heard there are rumors of an update to the Rebel XTI?
i like!
